Gillie appeared as Edith Higgins in this musical alongside an 18 year-old Julie Andrews who was to make her Broadway debut in ‘The Boyfriend’ later that same year. Also appearing were British acting stalwart, Andrew Cruickshank, later to be famous for the long-running BBC TV series Doctor Finlay’s Casebook, and Jerry Wayne, well known American singer who later suggested to his son, Jeff Wayne, an idea that led to the successful “Jeff Wayne’s Musical Version of The War of the Worlds’
