Waxing Lyrical
New Diorama Theatre, London 2011
Judith Paris’ one woman show about Madame Tussaud, the creator of the wax museum in London.
Waxing Lyrical is set in 1837, thirteen years before her eventual death and two years after she had stopped touring and created her first London base in the Baker Street Bazaar.
The events of Madame Tussaud’s life are revealed - moving to Paris as a child, experiencing the French revolution, and the loss of a child - as she learns the craft that will propel her to fame.
