Pickwick is a musical based on Charles Dickens novel ‘The Pickwick Papers’ and tells the story of Samuel Pickwick and his valet, Sam Weller, who are in debtors prison recalling the events that led to their imprisonment.
The show starred Harry Secombe in the lead role along with Roy Castle and features many well-known songs including ‘If I Ruled The World’, which became a great hit for Harry, as well as others including Stevie Wonder and Tony Bennett. A young Davy Jones, soon to be famous as one of ‘The Monkees’ played the part of Sam Weller in Los Angeles
