The Olivier Awards 2025 with Mastercard, theatre’s most prestigious honours, has announced its nominations for the annual awards which will take place on Sunday 6 April at the Royal Albert Hall
The competition for nominations has again been intense in what has proven to be a transformative year for London theatre, marked by a rich blend of dynamic new works, innovative interpretations of classics, and a commitment to championing diverse voices and stories.
Following on from last year’s winners Arlene Phillips and James Cousins for their work on Guys and Dolls, this year’s nominations for the Gillian Lynne Olivier Award for Best Theatre Choreographer are :
Matthew Bourne for Oliver! at Gielgud Theatre
Julia Cheng for Fiddler On The Roof at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre
Hofesh Shechter for Oedipus at The Old Vic
Christopher Wheeldon for MJ The Musical at Prince Edward Theatre
The annual awards this year will be hosted by Beverley Knight and Billy Porter and highlights will be shown on ITV that evening.
